How I came to the founding of sitecraft.agency

The beginning of the path: freelance since 2021

In 2021 I dared for the first time to take the step into freelance work. It was not an easy decision: the world was changing rapidly (pandemic, shift into digital) — and with it the ways of working. I left the comfort zone of a stable office routine to try myself as an independent web designer. The first period was, honestly, exciting and uncertain: no guarantees, no regular clients, no clear plan — only belief in my own abilities and the passion for designing websites.

The first months as a freelancer were a stress test. I had to structure my day from scratch, find clients, and constantly learn new things. I remember my first job: for nights I studied material, refined the layout to perfection, and doubted whether the result would land. Fortunately, the project was completed successfully — and the satisfied client recommended me further. This moment gave me self-confidence: the risk was worth it and actually led to the goal.

The choice of Webflow and no-code: speed, simplicity, result

One of the most important discoveries in this phase for me was the no-code approach. As a lone operator I was looking for a tool with which projects can be implemented quickly and without a large developer team. This tool was Webflow. Admittedly, at the beginning I was skeptical — can you really build a serious website without writing a single line of code? Webflow dispelled the doubts quickly. In the visual editor I was able to implement bold ideas while the platform generated clean, optimized code.

Instead of weeks of hand programming, after a few days there was a finished, responsive website. The interface of Webflow proved to be intuitive, the results professional. My projects — assembled without a line of code — were in no way inferior to traditional solutions and functioned just as reliably.

Clients were impressed by how quickly their websites went live: what otherwise often took a month, we realized in one to two weeks — without loss of quality. This approach became my secret weapon and gave me a noticeable advantage: more time for design and strategy instead of technical hurdles. Webflow and no-code combined speed, process simplicity, and high results — it was clear to me: this is the future.

New horizons: move to Germany

Soon a new chapter began — the move to Germany. Again my everyday life changed fundamentally: new country, foreign language, other culture. Professionally, new challenges awaited: I had to assert myself in a market with different expectations and quality standards.

Germany stands for the highest standards — from engineering to design; web development is no exception. In collaboration with German clients I felt the enormous importance of details and reliability. Every little thing counts — from clean typography to loading speed. Punctuality, transparency in communication, uncompromising adherence to deadlines — unwritten rules of every project.

Honestly, at the beginning it was not easy to live up to all that. I adapted not only to a new life but also to new professional realities. Project by project I learned to combine my creativity with German precision. While I could previously allow myself more improvisation, now every step became more considered and structured.

This experience made me stronger professionally and noticeably raised the quality bar of my projects. My websites reached an international level — they combined a creative approach with the much-cited German love of detail. The move broadened my horizon and showed: perfection knows no limit — it can always be better.

Challenges and lessons along the way

My path was by no means paved with roses. There were phases of doldrums, disappointments, and unexpected hurdles. Sometimes projects dragged on longer than planned, technical difficulties arose, or creative dead ends. I often worked through the nights — in the double, triple role as designer, developer, client manager and even accountant. A mode that can quickly lead to burnout.

Each of these challenges became a lesson. I learned to distribute time and energy wisely, understood the value of planning and clear communication with clients. Above all I internalized: there are no compromises when it comes to quality. Even when the temptation was great to be faster and sacrifice details, I reminded myself of the reason why I do this: to build websites you can be proud of. Errors or delays motivated me to become better. Over time I viewed problems more calmly: every crisis is an opportunity to grow and find a new solution. These experiences steeled me — and prepared me for the next steps.

Values of sitecraft.agency

Looking back, I see how all these experiences have shaped central values. These principles form the foundation of my work and the philosophy of sitecraft.agency:

Futuristic design. A website should reflect the future, not the past. In every project I experiment with contemporary visual ideas and technologies so that the result looks modern — gladly ahead of its time. This futuristic approach helps brands to stand out and show innovative strength.

Technology focus. The love of technology stands at the heart of what I do. I constantly test new tools and use state-of-the-art solutions. That means: websites are based on a modern technical foundation (e.g., Webflow and other no-code platforms) and run reliably, quickly, and securely. Technology keeps the bar for quality and efficiency high.

Ecological thinking. Digital products should be sustainable in every respect. I follow “digital sustainability”: optimized code and images for fast load times (saves energy and traffic), “green” hosting, support for projects with social and ecological benefit. Ecology means to me: taking long-term consequences into account and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Freedom of thought. Free thinking leads to unconventional solutions. I value creative freedom and am open to new ideas. The desire for freedom once brought me into freelancing — I have preserved this atmosphere to this day. No rigid templates or “that’s not done” — only the search for the best way, even if it is untypical.

Minimalism. “Less is more” is one of my guiding principles. In design and functionality I strive for clarity and simplicity. Nothing superfluous — only what users really need. This minimalism is not only aesthetic but functional: websites become light, understandable, and pleasant to use. And it harmonizes perfectly with my other values — futurism, technology focus, and ecology.

After this path it was clear to me: it is time for the next step. I wanted to bundle my experience and values under one name and one team. Thus sitecraft.agency came into being — not simply the extension of my freelancing but a new quality. A studio that can handle more ambitious projects and offers customers full service at the highest level.

sitecraft.agency exists to deliver websites to entrepreneurs and companies that meet the spirit of our time. Our clients do not want a kit outcome, but a unique, effective digital product. We work with small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups and creative projects — with all who want to become visible online and truly reach their target groups. Too often I saw people struggling with old, slow websites or stuck in complicated CMSs. I wanted to offer a different way. sitecraft.agency enables modern, fast, well-thought-out web presences — without headaches. For me it is the way to scale my ideals of quality and innovation and make them available where they are needed most.

Contribution to the digital future

When I think of the future, I see the role that sitecraft.agency can play in the digital world. I wish that the creation of websites becomes ever faster, more accessible and more sustainable — without compromises in quality or creativity. No-code is already breaking down barriers today: talented people can realize ideas without having to program. I am proud to be part of this movement and to make my contribution. We show in practice that innovative design and high tech are compatible with social and ecological responsibility.

In the coming years I want to further develop sitecraft.agency as a platform for experiments and growth. We will continue to introduce pioneering solutions, explore new tools — perhaps integrate AI and other forward-looking technologies into the web process. In doing so our principles remain untouchable: every work remains futuristic, technological, ecological, free, and minimalist. Our contribution to the digital future: making the web a bit better — with more beautiful, more user-friendly websites, more successful companies online, and a more mindful, more innovative development approach.
